Oh 2020. What a year. Its hard to find the right words to close this wild chapter, especially when it looks like 2020 is going to end on a cliffhanger.
So while I am wrapping up this year for the blog, and pushing changes to make a brighter future (at least for Regency Reader), I thought it would be fun to do a couple of year in review posts.
Today, I was perusing the stats and amused to see what the most popular posts and pages for the year were. Unsurprisingly, many readers found us for our lists of funny historicals. These tend to be some of our most popular posts…and in this year of all years, I know we all need laughter. I was also interested to see more top ten lists make it to the top this year.
What surprised me was how popular understanding Regency language/cant (swear words, in particular) has become over the last year…and this is one of the reasons we are doing a full overhaul to that section of the website.
I also love readers found our name generators fun or helpful…and am grateful for the permission from the old Regency name generator owner to carry on this concept. I actually use it myself when brainstorming character names, and if you have any suggestions for improvements let me know.
Finally, I adore that so many of you read up on our answers to other reader’s questions about the bathroom habits/means in the Regency. Its proof that our Regency Reader Questions is one of our favorite features of the site…and we hope yours, too! Keep those questions coming!
