Regency Advertisements: Gothic Mahogany Desk and Bookcase
This ad appeared in the Stamford Mercury on June 4, 1790. Admittedly, five years before the long Regency but nonetheless the ad paints a picture.
When passion and patience collide.
Joss Melville comes to London to search for Sam Dane, the man she almost eloped with five years before, but he is now a hardened war veteran with a sense of duty but no passion. To hold onto him, she invents the Discreet Detectives and enlists him to save two young women from the clutches of Lord Thaw. Sam forgives himself for the failed elopement and falls in love with Joss again, just before she is kidnapped by Lord Thaw.
