After seeing all the Sheraton furniture you’ve posted recently, I think I’m definitely a fan…especially after today. Although not my decorating style (even if I could afford it!!) the elegant lines are so appealing. Some of the pieces are a bit too embellished with drapery, but as a whole it reminds me of the comparison Elizabeth Bennet makes between the heavy ornate kind of furnishings that adorned Rosings to the elegant clean lines of Darcy’s property, most likely the plans of Darcy’s mother.
A great observation. Not my decorating style either, but I do always admire the small embellishments and details of Georgian/Regency furniture. I have seen some Sheraton antiques, and they still look fantastic, demonstrating the incredible craftsmanship that has been somewhat lost by mass manufacturing.
