Top 10: Favorite Books from 2020

With the New Year almost upon us, I thought it was a great time to celebrate my favorite reads from 2020…and there were a lot!  Our reviews aren’t just new releases; we frequently read older novels and novellas, especially when they are recommended by our readers,, so a few of those made it to the list.

The book covers will take you to Amazon for purchase, or if you click the author name/title you can check out our review.  When you buy through our Amazon links, it support Regency Reader!

Cat Sebastian: A Little Light Mischief This novella featuring love and adventure between a companion and a lady’s maid was romantic and sexy, with little twists that made it a fun read

Darcy Burke: A Duke Will Never Do Rake and the spinster who loves him band together to fight past demons, with nice character development, sex positivity and good pacing

Eva Leigh: My Fake Rake Academics try out fake courtship and end up falling in love, delivering the top read of the year.

Erica Ridley: Too Wicked to Kiss Gothic mystery with a clairvoyant heroine scratches the itch for a good gothic romance

Anthology: Duke I’d Like to F A mix of Georgian, Regency, and Victorian Dukes get down and dirty with some spicy ladies.  Great for some spicy, steamy content with beautifully told stories.

Catherine Kullman: The Potential for Love A historically detailed exploration of falling love and what that means was an immersive experience, a little different from the norm.

Katherine Grant: The Duchess Wager A wager, a snowstorm, and two passionate people finding love makes this traditional leaning romance, filled with great historical detail a real pleasure to read.

Diane Farr: The Nobody A provincial miss and man about town are an unlikely match in this kisses only, funnier older title.

Nicola Davidson: My Lady’s Lover Unrequited love turns to love with lots of hot action, in this f/f with lots of heat and sweet.

Rose Lerner: A Taste of Honey Steamy, sticky and sweet romance between working class MCs, this was a fast paced novella with cozy feels.

We are looking forward to reading even more new authors in 2021, and sharing our thoughts with you on all the latest (and some of the not so latest) in Regency romance.
