Top 15 Regency Christmas Novellas

In a whirlwind of winter activity, I love having short, seasonal novellas to fill up my time waiting for the oven, in the bathtub, or before bedtime.

I have compiled a list of my top 15 favorite Christmastime novellas that I recommend for those moments when a full novel is too much, but you want a little historical romance holiday cheer.

No Groom at the Inn by Megan Frampton is a snappy comedy, with hilarious dialogue and a Christmas country house party for our Victorian H/H to fall in love.  Fast paced, sexy and fun.

Mismatched Under the Mistletoe by Jess Michaels is a friends to lovers novella centered around an after Christmas house party designed around the 12 days of Christmas poem.

Dawn with a Duke by Erica Ridley is a snowed in story that hit all the right notes with some holiday magic among two artists who seem destined for each other.

A Christmas Gambol by Joan Smith teeters on the edge between novella and novel, but I found it a short and fun traditional read (kisses only) that is set in the “Little Season” so features all the Seasonal elements that keep you cozy.

Season’s Regency Greetings by Carla Kelly offers two sweet Christmas novellas that strike the perfect tone for the holidays.  Sentimental, filled with drama, these are sure to tug on your heart strings.

Her Christmas Earl by Anna Campbell takes a daring sister into a rake’s bedroom during a Yuletide house party, and sparks fly.

All I Want for Christmas is Blue by Shana Galen features a husband spy and his beleaguered wife in this marriage in trouble shortie.

A Regency Christmas IV is an anthology with five old school historical romance novellas ready to whisk you away for a Season full of love.  With some of the classically beloved authors of the genre (Mary Jo Putney, Sandra Heath, Mary Balogh, Marjorie Farrell and Emma Lange) this is worth going old school!

A Hopeful Christmas by Anneka R Walker, Sian Ann Bessey, Carla Kelly, and Krista Lynne Jensen is a new Christmas anthology this year with messages of hope and love readers are adoring.

A Long Winter’s Night by Robin Dayle was a short and engaging Christmas story featuring an unlikely match at a house party between a spinster and an Earl.

New Year’s Masquerade by Katherine Grant…I also want to give a shout out to this short New Year’s story that is a sweet second chance romance (and currently free on Amazon!)

That is a bit over 15, but who’s counting?  Happy holidays, Regency Readers!
