Regency Culture and Society: Where is a good husband to be found?

Published in a column called “The Listener” in the January 1816 edition of La Belle Assemblee, writer Georgiana begs the question “Where is a good husband to be found?”

This cautionary tale seems to suggest that whether for love, money, or in an abundance of caution, even the most benign of suitors can turn into a monster of a husband.
