Regency Reader Questions: Medieval Romances

Regency Reader Question
Hey, I am unsure what kind of book im looking for and I keep going back to regency romance. Ive been looking for a medival, but not, kinda like Arendell from frozen deal. but like marriage of convenience. I like the swords and castles with dukes and aristocracy, but regency is too modern and fancy aristocrats. I want almost a fantasy regency novel, were there is aristocracy and royalty but in a medieval fantasy time. I like brooding war torn dukes with either fiery stubborn ladys or abused meek sold for royalty money ladys. The best book example is a korean book called Under the oak tree light novel. Do you know anything or any genre like that book? cuz i either get regency or medieval. no in between.

Thanks for the question, Sal98!

Anything later than the Georgian era is not my area of specialty, so I reached out to Twitter friends (thank you, Twitter!) for some recommendations using your criteria.

Many came to the rescue and had some wonderful suggestions:

Lots of readers recommended generally looking into authors Madeline Hunter, Jo Beverley, Roberta Gellis, and Laura Kinsale.

Other potential author matches are to Harper St. George, Blythe Gifford (who herself recommended her Brunson Clan or Royal Wedding Series as potential good matches), Terri Brisbin (who herself recommended her The Dumont Bride as a marriage of convenience), Jenni Fletcher, Nicole Locke, and Elisabeth Hobbes (who herself recommended her Beguiled by the Forbidden Knight or The Saxon Outlaw’s Revenge).  Elizabeth Cole also chimed in to say her books are full of knights, brooding, and angst.

I hope you are able to find multiple authors and books that are a perfect match.  Thank you for reaching out and giving me a chance to learn about some of the amazing authors writing other historicals!
