Top Ten: Our Favorite Spinsters and The Men Who Love Them Regencies

Maybe its our advancing years, or maybe we just love an underdog (or independent woman), but we love a good spinster heroine in a Regency!

If you are looking for an older heroine who has given up on romance only to find her partner, we have a top ten list for you!

We present these in no order, just our top ten recommendations for Regency romances with spinster heroines.

Samantha Holt: A Viscount for the Spinster. Book one of a series is a second chance romance featuring a spinster businesswoman and the man who broke her heart.

Jane Ashford: A Gentleman Ought to Know Mystery elements abound in this fourth of a series with a prickly heroine and a Beta hero. Our review here.

Eva Leigh: My Fake Rake In one of my all-time favorite Regencies, a scientific minded wallflower who is nearly on the shelf enters into a fake relationship to catch the eye of her crush. Most hilarious in lessons to turn her fake man into a rake. Our review here.

Darcy Burke: Never Have I Ever With a Duke Both MCs need to marry for money, and yet they find themselves instantly attracted. She is part of a spinster society and is ready for some “free love”.  I enjoyed this slight deviation from the norm. Our review here.

Susan Carroll: The Wooing of Miss Masters Kisses only shorty with a funny meet cute and an unusual couple in short but entertaining read. Our review here.

Carola Dunn: Miss Hartwell’s Dilemma Another kisses only with a slow pace, with a spinster presented with a few options for matrimony in a year of change. Our review here.

Tessa Dare: Romancing the Duke Funny Beauty and the Beast take with a sunshine/grumpy set up, this one was fast paced and sexy. Our review here.

Erica Ridley: One Night for Seduction Intellectuals and philanthropists find sparks flying when this Duke on a mission and self-imposed spinster meet. Our review here.

Megan Frampton: No Groom at the Inn A winter seasonal novella, this gem packs a punch in a small package. Early Victorian with a down on her luck spinster heroine and a dreamy hero, its a funny set up and great delivery. Our review here.

Joan Smith: Aunt Sophie’s Diamond A kisses only classic that is a hilarious comedy of errors with a spinster heroine looking for adventure, and some fantastic banter. Our review here.

We know at least one of these titles will soon become a favorite.

I liked a book (title & author forgotten about an aunt who won the handsome lord’s hand & heart. She got tired of her family taking her for granted as the reliable maiden aunt who solved everyone else’s problems. aunt Gilly, I think. She used cuss words.
