Top 10: Anne’s Favorite Regency Romance Reads of 2025

I did a lot of reading this year, along with a lot of research and writing, and read a lot of things I loved.  Here are my top 10 favorite reads of 2025 in order of when I read them:

1. Felicity Niven: Convergence of Desire There is a delightful HEA, and the characters became so dear to me that I was honestly sorry to say goodbye.   I  would recommend this to Regency Readers interested in engaging with some of these concepts, who like mature content, and are looking for a new take on tropes like the rake and the virgin.
2.  Alexandra Vasti: In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation A fun, quick read for Readers looking for a quick, steamy carriage-trip with a crazy cat, a carriage crash, and some one bed scenarios.
3. Alexandra Vasti: Earl Crush This was a fun, fast paced read with witty banter, hilarious scenes, and some mystery. There are also great supporting characters that keep this rollercoaster of a ride going, although we are also treated to some spicy scenes as our MCs enter into a fake marriage and have to endure one bed a couple of times.
4. Anne Gracie: The Perfect Waltz I would recommend this for readers wanting to grapple with mature themes who love a grumpy/sunshine dynamic.
5. Courtney McCaskill: The Sea Siren of Broadwater Bottom Although I didn’t love every aspect of this book, it hit my sweet spot for tropes and was so different that I found it a good diversion.
6. Mia Vincy: A Scandalous Kind of Duke If you are looking for class difference, pining love, sex positive FMC and a little more modest of a MMC, and some real heart strings pulling I recommend giving this book a read.
7. Elisa Braden: The Devil is a Marquess  It rang a lot of my trope bells: marriage of convenience, forced proximity/one bed, and most of all a makeover (extreme home edition). I would recommend Readers try this author if looking for something new — especially if the tropes ring your bell, too.
8.  Minerva Spencer: The Boxing Baroness I would recommend this for readers on the hunt for a different style of FMC who like road trips, class differences, and that perfect yet grumpy MMC who ultimately cannot resist the FMC.
9. Alison Goodman: The Ladies Road Guide to Utter Ruin There was a mystery!  And Autumnal vibes!  And middle-aged MCs! The tone and many of the elements are well steeped in history, so if you are not afraid of some mature themes and violence, I think this is a good series to check out.
10. Deborah Simmons: A Man of Many Talents I would recommend it to other Regency Readers looking for something similar – too silly to be spooky, a MMC that is a bit piratical and a FMC who is stern but surprisingly funny, and a romance that is more fated mates (with a lot of lust) than deep and heart wrenching

One of my favorites (but it was Victorian):

 Alice Coldbreath: A Foolish Flirtation Coldbreath is a huge talent and although not within the Regency era, her Victorian books are worth a venture outside the norm.
