It’s my favorite Season, which I love to celebrate with cozy sweaters, Fall themed rom coms, and a whole lot of mood Regency Romances.
If you have been a Regency Reader for a while, you know I have done a few other top 10s for this theme and those books still stand up to the test of time. Last year’s top 6, ย this one from 2015ย andย this one from 2016 are still great lists.
But there is always a new book to explore, and what better Season to curl up with a great, moody gothic or spine tingling Regency (or Regency adjacent) paranormal?!
Here’s a new top 10 historicals to get you in the Autumn mood:
Erica Ridley, Too Wanton To Wed: On the run, Violet seeks shelter in a crumbling abbey with secrets, including a child imprisoned in the dark to save her from an illness..and others.ย Full of gothic mood and part of a whole series of gothic delights, this has allย the passion you are looking for along with mystery and intrigue.
Brooklyn Ann, His Ruthless Bite: Vampires, a marriage of convenience, and intrigue abound in this paranormal Regency.ย A fun way to play with Regency tropes but with a supernatural flair and get in the Hallow’s Eve mood.
