Top 10: Regency Reader Posts of the Year

Thank you, readers, for another great year!  Your support during the launch of my first published non-fiction book was amazing, and I hope you have enjoyed getting some sneak peeks at my research in addition to the deep dives, side trips, and excursions into history.

Unsurprisingly, this year’s list looks very similar to previous years.  We appreciate how many readers find us from social media or search engines, looking for answers about Regency era life or trying to find the perfect, funny match for their TBR pile.

Excluding popular pages, here is the top 10 blog post list from 2025.

1. Regency Words: Swear Words Swearing like a sailor is out, and cursing like a cad was in this year.  We included these and more in our Regency Cant excel database.  Unsurprisingly, y’all still love a good swear word in 2025.
2.  Regency Fashion: Carriages, Coaches and the Barouche is consistently a high ranking post, because it can be a touch confusing to understand the difference between a curricle and a coach.
3. Top 50: If You Love Georgette Heyer… Reader on the hunt for books like Georgette Heyer’s found a listicle of inspiration from some of our favorite Regency authors.  This one climbed from the bottom spot at 10 in 2025.
4. Regency Reader Questions: On Chaperones Etiquette is often a popular reader question and this oldie but goody jumped up a few slots in popularity this year.
5. Top 30: Historical Romances Where the Heroine Masquerades as a Man This top 30 climbed a few spots from last year, with a still is a classic list of masquerading MCs.  We love a gender bending Queen!
6. Regency Reader Questions: Which Pride and Prejudice is More Historically Accurate (1995 v 2005) A famous debate a reader asked us to weigh in on, and we use some evidence to declare a victor.
7. Regency Customs: The Cut Reddit and a few blog posts got a hold of this breakdown on the four different cuts and have made this a top linked post.
8. Regency Culture and Society: The Governess Readers were wanting to learn some historical facts about Regency era governesses this year.
9. Regency Reader Questions: Teenage Girls in the Regency Era A young reader asked what were teenage girls doing in the Regency era.  There is a similar post about teenage boys, too.
10. Representing Regency: Multiracial People in the 19th Century This is one of my favorite categories where I tackle commonly seen myths out in the wild, and in this post I talk about the presence of multiracial people in Regency life.
